Michael Patrick Longworth Sanchez, a 2-month-old resident of Stafford, Va., died July 3, 2006, in Richmond, Va., following a battle with leukemia during the last three weeks of his life.

Born April 11, 2006, in Stafford, he was the grand nephew of Maureen Longworth, a 14-year resident of Juneau.
"All of us are grateful for the opportunity Michael gave us to completely open our hearts to his healing circle of light and the gifts that we received through his short presence in our lives," family members said.
He is survived by his mother, Wendy Longworth Sanchez, a temporary resident of Stafford; 8-year-old brother, Johnny Sanchez; grandparents, Rose and Michael Longworth, of Virginia and California; aunt and uncle, Melissa (Longworth) and Charlie Rigdon, of Stafford; and many great aunts, great uncles and cousins.
A memorial was held on July 10 in Stafford. A Juneau memorial will be held in August.
