FAIRBANKS - The North Pole City Council has lost a second member after Willy Cork said he is resigning for personal and health reasons.
The 70-year-old Cork won his first elected position in October. At the time, Cork described himself as a reluctant candidate.
Cork stated in his resignation letter he feels he can no longer serve effectively and with objectivity. He also stated the council job produced too much stress.
The City Council will decide whether to accept Cork's resignation at its August 2 meeting.
Doug Wilson also has resigned from the City Council, reportedly for multiple reasons, including a pending relocation to Juneau.
