Former Juneau resident Evan Frances Wruck died July 5, 2000, in Salem, Ore.

He was born March 27, 1916, in Raymond Township, Minn. He came to Alaska in 1936 and worked for the Alaska Railroad and as a logger. He bought a brand new 1959 Edsel station wagon in Juneau and owned it until he died. He was in national and international Edsel clubs and drove that Edsel in every U.S. state but Hawaii, all the Canadian provinces and territories and three Mexican states.

He was active for 30 years with the St. Vincent de Paul Meals on Wheels program and with a food share program, and he continued to be active after his retirement. He was a forth degree in the Knights of Columbus.
