Juneau police, fire officials and state troopers reported:


Shortly after 9 p.m. Friday, a 23-year-old man was beaten up and robbed downtown. As a part of an ongoing investigation, Juneau police arrested Kevin Stephen Brew, 36, on two felony charges -- second-degree robbery and second-degree theft. The amount of the money allegedly stolen was not disclosed. He was taken to state prison. Police released no other details.

Vehicle accidents:

At about 1 p.m. Sunday, police responded to a two-vehicle accident on Riverside Drive. A woman, 33, said she was rear-ended by a vehicle driven by another woman. The second woman's age was not available. The 33-year-old's car sustained a dent and a broken taillight.

Hit-and-run incidents:

At about 2:30 p.m. Sunday, a 58-year-old woman reported that her vehicle was the victim of a hit-and-run incident on Lemon Street on Saturday evening. There was no estimate of the damage done to the vehicle.


At about 12:30 p.m. Sunday, a caller reported a bear near the Shrine of St. Therese.

At about 3:30 a.m. today, a caller reported a bear trying to get into garbage at the Switzer Village Mobile Home Park.
