Longtime Juneau resident Ada Mangsol Winther, 80, died July 20, 2002, at Swedish Hospital in Seattle, Wash.
She was born in Ennis, Mont., and moved to Juneau with her parents, Oscar and Lydia Mangsol, in 1927. In 1943 she married Goody Winther, who preceded her in death in 1994.
After graduation from Juneau High School, she worked for the territory of Alaska in the Department of Education. She also worked many years for the Juneau School District.
She is survived by her daughters Leslie Dumont of Juneau and Jensine (Roger Hayden) Winther of Seattle, Wash.; grandchildren Kevin (Arianne) Dumont and Miranda Dumont of Juneau, and Rose Guixin Hayden of Seattle, Wash.; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Jirdes and Fred Baxter; and numerous nieces and nephews.
