Police and Fire

Juneau police, fire officials and state troopers reported:


• A 13-year-old boy was cited for concealing merchandise at 6:08 p.m. Tuesday at a store in the area of Mendenhall Mall Road.

Found property:

• A Bridgestone MB6 bicycle was reported found at 9:13 p.m. Wednesday near Brother Bridge Trail.

Vehicle accidents:

• At 3:13 p.m. Tuesday, a 2003 Toyota Corollla collided with a 1986 Honda Accord on Salmon Creek Lane. Damage to the Toyota was estimated at $50. Damage to the Honda was estimated at $100.


• Two vehicles were reported to have had windows broken at 7:51 a.m. Wednesday at Stephen Richards Memorial Drive.

Animal complaints:

• Juveniles were reported harassing a bear, which in turn ran at them, in the Stephen Richards Memorial Drive area at 11:11 p.m. Tuesday. An officer was dispatched to diffuse the situation. Earlier Tuesday, a bear had been reported walking through that area at 12:51 p.m., and the Cinema Drive area at 12:39 p.m.

• Wednesday, the Stephen Richards Memorial Drive area had reports of bears getting into trash at 7:02 a.m. and 8:06 a.m. The area also had a report of a bear sighting at 12:42 a.m. Bears also were reported near Churchill Way at 7:19 a.m., near Glacier Highway in the Lemon Creek area at 9:58 a.m. and near Rainbow Row at 10:37 a.m.
