First, Randy Salenski, a U.S. Coast Guard buoy tender engineering officer, lights a torch Wednesday in the "heat and beat"competition during the Buoy Tender Round Up Olympics at the Coast Guard dock.

Second, Bruce Larsen, buoy tender Sycamore chief, swims in thesurvival suit relay. Teams of four swam 100-yard legs during the race.

Third, crewmen from the buoy tender Spar, from left, Sebastian Arnsdorf, Zak Kane, Jarrod Hawkins and Kevin Metcalf, drag an anchor chain in a competition. Buoytenders from Alaska and Canada are in Juneau this week for the annual event of classes, competition and camaraderie.
