As one of the four people rescued from the Herbert River yesterday I was impressed with how everyone involved handled the situation with the exception of the Empire. I felt that their coverage was inaccurate and misleading.
Thank you mother nature for the gift of quiet on Sunday. Very few planes and not a single helicopter flew over my neighborhood. It was an unexpected gift and it was shear bliss. I took a walk on Sandy Beach and was able to hear children playing, the squeak of the swing set, waves lapping on the beach and the persistent drumming of rain on the picnic shelter as I dove for cover.
