... for prayers and positive thoughts
Lisa and I want to express our immense gratitude to everyone in Juneau who sent us their prayers and positive thoughts and provided other assistance during my illness. There are no words that can adequately express how deeply our hearts have been touched by the outpouring of support. We have been incredibly blessed by the kindness, generosity and consideration displayed by the people and businesses of Juneau. My recent surgery was very successful and my recovery from the operation is going well. Though there will be further struggle and uncertainty during the coming months and years, we are greatly comforted by the sensitivity and caring of our friends and the community of Juneau.
We are reluctant to single out specific people or businesses for thanks, for fear of omission, but we do feel compelled to send a particular notes of deep appreciation. Thank you to Ronna and Greg Craig and Pauline Higdon for their energy and support, especially Dr. Robert Urata, Charlene, Tamara Simone-Collins and Sue Moriin at Bartlett infusion therapy for their outstanding care, professionalism and compassion during this difficult time. Juneau is truly fortunate to have people of this caliber as part of the community. God bless you all, and we hope to visit our Juneau friends regularly in future years.

... to Shattuck and Grummett Insurance
The American Red Cross would like to express its appreciation to Shattuck and Grummett Insurance, the sponsors of our recent golf tournament. It was a nice dry day, and a good time was had by all. Many thanks also go to The Twisted Fish, and Tom and Kogi File of Mendenhall Golf. Last, but not least, the assistance from Tournament Director Ben Brown and Golf Marshall Tony Sholty was indispensable.
Longtime Juneau residents Jennifer and Dale Schmitz celebrated their permanent move south by winning the Best Ball tournament along with teammates David George and Don Dapcevich. A bogey on the ninth hole by second place finishers Steve Shin, and Kim and Pat Wonser broke the possible tie as both teams had a final score of 25. Third place was taken by the team of Bob Winter, Roger Grummett, Gary Murdoch and Doug Belknap, with a score of 26. A final big thank you to all of the golfers who came out to support the Red Cross!
