The United Way of Southeast Alaska is pleased to recognize Capital Chevrolet as its first $10,000-level donor and the first member of the national Alexis de Tocqueville Society in Southeast Alaska.
The society, established in 1984 by the United Way of America, honors individuals who have contributed at least $10,000 to a United Way chapter. Capital Chevrolet owner Rob Skinner is the first Juneau resident to be inducted.
Skinner joins a group of approximately 19,000 people across the nation who have been honored with membership in the de Tocqueville Society. The drive for additional donors is part of the United Way of Southeast Alaska's annual fund-raising campaign that is slated to begin in September.
The money raised will support the 30 member agencies in Southeast Alaska who provide services in areas such as domestic violence, youth mentoring and achievement, alcohol and other drug use prevention, health education and more. For more information, please contact the United Way of Southeast Alaska at 463-5530.
