JUNEAU - The Juneau contra dance community will host Camp Damp, its annual dance weekend, Friday, July 25, to Sunday, July 27, at Eagle River Methodist Camp.
Phantom Power, a high-energy contra dance band from Boston, will play. Pianist Bruce Rosen and fiddle player Lissa Schneckenburger will also play, and Sue Rosen will be caller. Bruce Rosen has been a part of Boston's contra dance and English community since the 1970s. Schneckenburger grew up in Maine and plays all over the world as a fiddler and vocalist. Sue Rosen lives in Newton, Mass., and has been part of the New England music scene for almost 30 years.
Total attendance is limited to 80 people and only a few openings are left. You must be registered to attend.
The cost for the weekend party is $80 for adults, $30 for children 6 to 18, and $10 for children under 6. To register, contact Eileen at 789-2912 or email@example.com.
