Urge our senators to support Net neutrality

Letter to the editor

Thank you for pointing out recently that our own Sen. Ted Stevens has no idea how the Internet works - the very system he is trying to serve up to money-hungry companies like Verizon, Comcast and AT&T. Everyone who uses the Internet right now enjoys the freedom of Net neutrality, i.e. sites are not subject to a fee to be opened quickly. The above corporations are spending millions on lobbying Congress to give them more control over what Americans see online. Net neutrality has been in place since the Internet began.

Sound off on the important issues at

All who value their use of the Internet need to contact their senators and urge them not to support the mega-phone companies and Sen. Stevens, who is leading their fight. These companies want to be able to charge a site to have it open more quickly. If you, as an Internet user, are going to a site that doesn't pay the fee, it would take much longer for the site you wish to see to open.
