Ashley Badger, formerly of Juneau, and Benjamin Bahney, of Denver, Colo., are engaged to be married. All friends are invited to celebrate with the wedding party at 6 p.m. on Aug. 30 at Sandy Beach. Side dishes welcome.

The bride is the daughter of Mark Badger and Marcia Nye, of Juneau. She is graduated from Juneau-Douglas High School in 2000, the University of California Davis in 2004 and UC San Diego's Graduate School of International Relations and Pacific Studies in 2006.

The groom is the son of William and Donna Bahney, of Newport, Calif., and David and Pam Adams, of Denver.

He graduated from George Washington High School Denver in 1999, University of Pennsylvania in 2003 and UC San Diego's Graduate School of International Relations and Pacific in 2006.

The couple will return to Washington, D.C., where Ben is an associate at RAND Corp. and Ashley is a diplomat with the U.S. Department of State.
