Laura Ann Poe and Joseph Randal Jim will celebrate 11 years as a couple by getting married at 3 p.m. on Saturday, July 31, 2010, at The Valley Chapel with a reception to immediately follow at the Juneau Arts & Culture Center (formerly known as the Armory). All family and friends of the bride and groom are welcome to attend.
The bride is the daughter of Teresa Reyes-Germain, of Juneau, and Robert Poe (deceased), of Fairbanks, and step-fathers Larry Germain and Skip Lundstrom, both of Juneau. She is a 1993 graduate of Juneau-Douglas High School and a former Miss Juneau of 1993. She is employed as an accounting technician at Central Council Tlingit and Haida Indian Tribes of Alaska.
The groom is the son of Joseph Bergman Jim Sr. of Angoon and Georgia Albert and step-father Emmert Albert, both of Juneau. He is employed as a warehouse manager for Thibodeau's Market, Inc.
The maid of honor will be Shyla Germain with bridesmaids Tammy Meachem and Karen Miller. The junior bridesmaids will be Valarie Skelton and Sophia Aceveda. The best man will be Tapia Church with groomsmen Larry Hotch, Anthony Walker, Sonny Thomas, Craig Tiedemann and Jerry Ohalleran. The flower girl will be Sara Aceveda with ring-bearers Kaden Dean Jim and Jaxin Ryker Jim.
The couple will make their home in Juneau.
