...for senior help
On behalf of the senior citizens of Juneau, I'd like to express my appreciation to Gastineau Human Services and the community service workers who moved the equipment and furniture into the newly renovated Juneau Senior Center. Without the helpful, hard-working guys at G.H.S., the move couldn't have been accomplished. Due to financial constraints, we literally depended on G.H.S. to help us move furniture into the storage unit, kitchen equipment into the temporary location and everything back again.
I also want to thank the many individual Juneau citizens who helped with the move - with special thanks to Lisa Gordon, Pat Sidmore, Betty McDonough and Pat Crabtree for putting a great deal of time and effort into moving our kitchen and ceramics program back to the Juneau Senior Center. Jerry, Fred, Christopher and everyone else who helped with the move (you know who you are) - thank you so much. Juneau's senior citizens will enjoy the fruit of your labor for years to come.

...for search efforts
Now that things have settled down here, I am writing to you and the people in your area to express my sincere appreciation and thanks for your concern and interest in helping to locate my husband Phil Phillips during the last weekend in June when he was missing off the Alaska shore. The Coast Guard located him - safe and sound - and he has continued on his trip from Homer to San Diego. I was very impressed by the professionalism and dedication exhibited by the Coast Guard - they really know what they are doing! My husband reported that as he continued his trip, he was amazed at how many people were aware of the event. I know that was because of your willingness to spread the word through the newspaper and the willingness of the people in Alaska to get involved. Thanks again to all of you.
