McConkey, Smith marry

Michelle Loraine McConkey was married June 24 to Travis Wayne Smith. Capt. Michael Nute performed the marriage at The Church of the Nazarene in Sitka.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David McConkey of Sitka. Her grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Lopez and the late Alfred Grant Sr. of Juneau, and Mrs. Beatrice McConkey and the late Gaylord McConkey of Olympia, Wash.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gary Smith of Sitka. His grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Leo Golden of Sitka, and Mrs. Claire Smith and the late Bernard Smith of Fallon, Nev.

Amy Estrada served as the maid of honor. The bridesmaids were Noelle Kennedy, Deann (Wick) Revolinski and Tara Smith, the groom's sister. The junior bridesmaids were Erika McConkey, the bride's sister, and Ariel MacDonald, the bride's cousin. The flower girls were the bride's nieces Amber Baguya and Desiree Littlefield. The bride's nephew, Steven Littlefield, was ring bearer, and the guest book attendant was Emily Edenshaw of Juneau. The bride's personal attendant was Danielle Anderson. The best man was George Bourdukofsky of Anchorage. The groomsmen were Joel Nicholas, Nick McGraw, Randy Peters and Chuck Miyasato.

Michelle is pursuing a master's degree in business administration, with an emphasis in accounting, at the University of Washington. Travis is employed with Alaska Airlines. They will reside in Federal Way, Wash.

The couple will honeymoon in Italy.
