Keep ATVs out of North Douglas

Posted: Thursday, July 26, 2007

You only have to go out to Echo Cove to see how all-terrain vehicles destroy the terrain. It's bad enough as it is. I think Rough Riders Alaska should be satisfied with being allowed to wreck the cove and should not spread the destruction elsewhere. One idiot deciding to go outside any park boundary for the lure of untracked wetland is all it takes for habitat destruction that would not repair itself for decades.

Sound off on the important issues at

Freedom to ride does not equal freedom to destroy. ATV riders should be glad they are allowed to trample Echo Cove. Please leave North Douglas alone. Focus your concerns on those who allow children to operate these machines without a helmet.
