ANCHORAGE - Lt. Governor Craig Campbell, in his role as administrator of state election law, attended the National Association of Secretaries of State 2010 summer conference last week in Providence, R.I. In many states across the nation, elections are administered by the Secretary of State.
During the conference, Campbell served on a panel discussing military and overseas voter empowerment under the Military and Overseas Voter Empowerment Act.
"As your lieutenant governor, it is my duty to encourage voter participation," Campbell said. "Providing tools to aide those living abroad is key to increasing voter participation and an event like the roundtable discussion at the NASS summer conference is a great opportunity for Alaska to share best-practices with other states around the country."
