EUGENE, Ore. - A 31-year-old man wanted for kidnapping and sexual assault was captured by police after a six-hour manhunt outside Eugene Saturday.
KVAL News reports that Matthew Phillip Williams is suspected of kidnapping and raping a female acquaintance last week.
On Saturday, a local resident spotted Williams at a gas station in Glenwood and notified police. Officers caught up to Williams shot after and he fled in a car on Interstate 5. He exited the freeway and broke through a gated community, where he ditched his car and ran. But police caught up to him.
