Assault:
A 32-year-old man was arrested for criminal mischief and assault at 9:53 a.m. Wednesday in the 3200 block of Hospital Drive.
Theft:
A green Diamondback mountain bike was reported stolen at 2:05 p.m. Tuesday in the 8200 block of Poplar Avenue.
A red 10-gallon gas tank was reported stolen at 6:38 p.m. Tuesday from a boat in the 3500 block of Tongass Boulevard.
An Apple iPod music player was reported stolen at 5:32 a.m. Wednesday in the 1800 block of Shell Simmons Drive.
Vehicle accidents:
A 41-year-old man was cited for failure to yield and no insurance at 8:59 a.m. Wednesday after the 1986 Ford he was driving struck and totaled a 1994 Honda driven by 32-year-old woman in the 6500 block of Glacier Highway.
A 57-year-old man was cited for following too closely at 9:06 a.m. Wednesday after the 2004 Jeep he was driving struck a 1983 driven by a 23-year-old woman at Egan Drive and Vanderbilt Hill Road. The woman was cited for no insurance.
Hit and run:
A 2003 Ford Ranger was reportedly struck by an unknown vehicle at 10:28 a.m. Wednesday in the 3000 block of Vintage Boulevard.
Traffic stop:
A 47-year-old man was cited for driving without a license and no proof of insurance at 6:48 a.m. Wednesday at Egan Drive and Channel Drive. The vehicle he was driving was impounded.
Animal encounters:
A bear was reported roaming around Fifth and Gold streets at 1:11 p.m. Tuesday and at 1:15 p.m. Tuesday, as well as around Calhoun Street at 1:55 p.m. Tuesday.
