Reports from police, fire officials and state troopers:

Sound off on the important issues at

Animal complaint:

• At about 5:16 a.m. on Thursday, a bear was reported accessing the basement area of a residence on Sixth Street. The bear was last seen going into the woods.

• At about 6:02 a.m. on Thursday, a bear was reported accessing garbage in a basement area in the 400 block of Ninth Street.


• At about 8:32 p.m. on Wednesday, a 29-year-old male was arrested for assault in the 600 block of Willoughby Avenue, and was lodged at Lemon Creek Correctional Center.

Disorderly conduct:

• At about 3:55 p.m. on Wednesday, a 38-year-old female was arrested for disorderly conduct in the 3200 block of Hospital Drive, and lodged at Lemon Creek Correctional Center.

• At about 7:33 p.m. on Wednesday, a 30-year-old male was arrested for harassment and disorderly conduct in the 5000 block of Douglas Highway, and transported to Lemon Creek Correctional Center.


• At about 7:41 p.m. on Wednesday, a 29-year-old female reported the theft of a youth-size red Mongoose mountain bike, valued at $120, in the 1800 block of Northwood Drive.

• At about 10:37 a.m. on Thursday, two rear wheels were reported stolen from a 1995 Nissan Pathfinder in the 11800 block of Glacier Highway.

Traffic accident:

• At about 10:32 a.m. on Thursday, a 2002 Ford truck struck the Douglas Bridge, causing $300 in damage to the truck, and no damage to the bridge.


• At about 12:02 a.m. on Thursday, Juneau police received a report of a rock being thrown, causing damage to a white Ford in the 1300 block of Third Street.
