Program description: The Girl Scout mission is to build girls of courage, confidence and character who make the world a better place. Tongass Alaska Girl Scout Council provides scouting opportunities to girls in 14 Southeast Alaska Communities. Girls ages 5 to 17 participate in troop, group and individual activities. Girl Scouts is open to all girls regardless of race, color, creed, national origin, socio-economic status or disability. Girl Scouts provides training for volunteers and works to empower leadership.

Volunteer positions available: A resident camp counselor is needed for a week at Camp Feather Winds, Aug. 12-17 in Haines. Are you a responsible adult who enjoys working with Girl Scouts? Make a difference by doing something you enjoy. Volunteers must complete a background check and health screening.
