Julia Nave, of Juneau, was named to the 2006-07 dean's list at Smith College in Northampton, Mass. A Juneau-Douglas High School graduate, she is the daughter of Susan Cox and Thomas Nave.

Kerriann Powers, of Juneau, was awarded second honors on the spring semester dean's list at Clark University in Worcester, Mass. To be eligible for second honors, students must have a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher. A Juneau-Douglas High School graduate, Powers is studying mathematics.


Gunnar Gissel recieved a Bachelor of Science in physics in May 2007 from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pa. He accepted a position at the United States Patent Office in Washington, D.C.


Jake Ritter, of Juneau, was named to the spring semester dean's list at Bemidji State University in Bemidji, Minn. Students named to the dean's list must carry 12 or more credit hours during the term and earn at least a 3.25 grade-point average.
