ANCHORAGE - An 11-year-old Anchorage boy has died in a traffic crash on the Seward Highway.

Alaska State Troopers say Seth Mandel was pronounced dead at the scene near Girdwood.

Troopers say a van driven by 51-year-old Rick Langfitt of Kodiak crossed the center line onto northbound traffic near mile 76 Friday evening.

Both Langfitt and 45-year-old Peter Mandel of Anchorage - who was driving a northbound station wagon - tried to avoid a collision.
