Juneau police, fire officials and state troopers reported:
Theft:
A blue nylon backpack was reported stolen at 3:23 p.m. Monday near outbound Egan Drive in the Jordan Creek area. Inside the backpack was a wallet and a DVD of the movie "Jeepers Creepers 2."
A political sign was reported stolen at 3:38 p.m. Monday from a front yard near Gee Street in the Valley.
A brown leather wallet, holding credit cards, was reported stolen at 6:54 p.m. Monday near Shell Simmons Drive near the airport.
A 26-inch, 21-speed mountain bike was reported stolen at 7 p.m. Monday near Glacier Highway in the Valley.
A full-size crab pot, valued at $370, was reported stolen at 3:48 a.m. Tuesday from a driveway at a Seventh Street residence.
A sign, valued at $400, was reported stolen, and a booth reported vandalized at 7:57 a.m. Tuesday on South Franklin Street.
Vandalism:
A woman reported at 4:08 p.m. Monday that the antenna on her vehicle had been broken off near Marine Way.
Vehicle accidents:
A 1998 Toyota, driven by a woman, 20, sustained an estimated $8,000 in damage in an accident at 9:06 a.m. Tuesday on outbound Egan Drive near Yandukin Drive. It stuck a 2000 Ford driven by a woman, 21. Damage to the Ford was estimated at $2,500.
Animal encounters:
A small black bear was reported at 8:34 p.m. Monday in the area of Basin Road and the flume.
Assault:
A 45-year-old man was arrested Monday in the Mendenhall Valley after reportedly violating a domestic violence order and assaulting his wife.
He was charged with second-degree assault, kidnapping, first-degree burglary, violating a domestic violence restraining order and violating conditions of release. He was transported to Lemon Creek Correctional Center and held on no bail.
