Master Gardeners hold Juneau gardens tours

The Master Gardeners are holding two day-tours of Juneau's finest gardens from 1 to 4 p.m. on July 29 and 30.

The tour on July 29 features gardens out the road, including Caroline Jensen's arboretum. The tour on July 30 will feature gardens in the valley area.

Tickets are on sale at Hearthside Books or on the day of the tour at the Cooperative Extension Office, 3032 Vintage Blvd. For more information, call Darcy Richards at 790-8872.

Sequence Board shop holds competition

Sequence Board Shop and Parks and Recreation are sponsoring a skateboarding competition at 2 p.m. on July 29 at the Pipeline Skate Park. Warm-ups start at 1 p.m. Helmet use is required.

Register at Sequence Board Shops, at either location, at the Mendenhall Mall or Miners Mercantile downtown. Registrations are accepted through July 28, or until 1 p.m. at the Skate Park the day of the event.
