ANCHORAGE - This year's Permanent Fund Dividend check could be a big one.
The check could top $2,000 this year. If so, it would be the first time since the state began making payments in 1982 that the dividend topped $2,000.
It is the profits generated by stocks, bonds, real estate and other investments that determine the size of the dividend.
It is based on a five-year average of profits.
The Anchorage Daily News estimates that the check will be between $2,080 and $2,100.
