ANCHORAGE - It took seven months, but an arrest has been made in Anchorage's first homicide of the year.
Anchorage police Lt. Dave Parker said Monday that Alaska State Troopers arrested 34-year-old Donny Weston of Bethel following a grand jury indictment charging him with manslaughter and criminally negligent homicide in the death of Ricky Sumdum.
Sumdum, a 50-year-old Anchorage resident, was found dead in an apartment Jan. 2. A medical examiner said he died from blunt force trauma.
Weston's bail has been set at $50,000.
