Juneau police, fire officials and state troopers reported:

Driving while intoxicated:

• Douglas Courtney, 35, was arrested for drunken driving at 11:43 p.m. Monday at Glacier Highway and Wildmeadow Lane. He was lodged at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center.

Vehicle accidents:

• No one was hurt in an accident at 10:55 a.m. Monday on Old Dairy Road. A 1986 white Chevy pickup operated by a man, 26, struck a 1997 green Chevy pickup operated by a man, 29. There was about $700 in damage to each vehicle.

• A woman reported at 1:06 p.m. Monday that her Ford Tempo was hit while parked on Glacier Highway. The car was scratched and dented.


• CDs and a prescription were reported stolen Monday from a car on Stephen Richards Memorial Drive.

• A generator was reported stolen from a building on West Ninth Street over the weekend.

• CDs were reported stolen Monday from an unlocked vehicle on Alaska Belle Court in Douglas.

• A mountain bike was reported stolen Monday afternoon from Glacier Highway.

Vandalism and criminal mischief:

• A man reported that someone rifled through his unlocked vehicle on Gail Avenue on Sunday night.

• A tire on a Ford truck was reported slashed on Linda Avenue on Sunday night.

• A tire on a van was reported slashed on Stephens Richards Memorial Drive on Sunday night.

• Police responded to a report of an attempted burglary in progress on Glacier Avenue at 11:31 p.m. Monday. They saw no suspects in the area, but found $300 in damage to the garage door of a business.

Animal encounters:

• Bears were reported Monday at 7:55 a.m. on Rheinhardt Street, 8:11 a.m. on Calhoun Avenue, 8:12 a.m. on Hermit Street, 8:19 a.m. on Willoughby Avenue, 8:53 on Dixon Street, 9:18 a.m. on Willoughby Avenue, 9:53 a.m. on Martin Road, 10:42 a.m. on Fifth Street, 11:09 a.m. on Third and Harris streets, 11:39 a.m. on Hermit Street, 12:04 p.m. on Rheinhardt Street, 1:14 p.m. and 4:17 p.m. on Sixth Street, 5 p.m. on Eighth Street, 5:57 p.m. on Sixth Street, 6:33 p.m. on Sixth Street, 8:46 p.m. on Willoughby Avenue, 9 p.m. on Thunder Mountain Road, 9:16 p.m. on Willoughby Avenue, 9:38 p.m. on Glendale Street, 10:55 p.m. on Second Street, 11:05 p.m. on Gold Street, 11:35 p.m. on South Franklin Street, and 11:52 p.m. on Distin Avenue. Bears were reported today at 12:50 a.m. on South Franklin Street and 3:28 a.m. on Egan Drive.


• Police and fire officials extinguished at fire in a portable toilet at 3:12 a.m. today at Rotary Park. No one was injured and one was seen in the area. The cause of the fire has not been determined and the toilet was a total loss. An investigation continues.
