ANCHORAGE - Anchorage police have arrested a man suspected of being the rogue motorcyclist who had eluded officers by driving at more than 100 mph.

Twenty-three-year-old Justin R. Carr was arrested Tuesday and charged with felony eluding.

Police put out a public appeal June 30 asking for tips on a cyclist repeatedly seen driving recklessly between Anchorage and the Matanuska-Susitna Borough.

The man reportedly was driving an unlicensed 2005 yellow Suzuki motorcycle that had been crashed and rebuilt.

Tips from the public and other information led to the arrest.

Carr was held on $10,000 bail and scheduled for arraignment Wednesday. Police say they have not found the motorcycle.
