Juneau Youth Football League seeking coaches

The JYFL is seeking both football and cheerleading coaches. Info: 463-1562.

Stay off the field

Juneau Parks and Recreation Department wants to remind the public the Adair-Kennedy Memorial Park soccer/football field is still closed for the installation of the new artificial turf. The project may look complete, but testing is still being done to validate the turf's warranty. The public should stay off the field until further notice. Info: 586-5226.

Juneau-Douglas High School cross-country running

First practice is 3 p.m. July 31 at the Marie Drake gym. All students need physicals from their own doctor. The Crimson Bears will travel by ferry to Haines and Skagway Aug. 4-5 for training runs with those teams. The team will also christen a new course this year in Douglas, near the old Treadwell Mine site. Info: Guy Thibodeau, 790-4269.
