Woodcraft store opens

JUNEAU - Former Juneau police sergeant-turned-artist Tom Wehnes will hold the grand opening of his store Wehnes and Sons from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday.

The shop, which opened officially in early June, is located at 225 Front Street in the Merchants Mall. Wehnes specializes in furniture and woodcraft, including carvings, which he began studying and practicing 10 years ago in his home workshop.

Housing fair seeks vendors

JUNEAU - Organizers from the Juneau Affordable Housing Partnership are looking for Realtors, lenders and nonprofit groups for the Affordable Housing Fair, to be held 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 29 at the Nugget Mall.

Juneau Affordable Housing Partnership is a nonprofit organization serving the low- and moderate-income home buyer.

Vendors should be interested in selling homes and home-repair products. The deadline for registration is Sept. 7. Tables at the event cost $100, and $30 for nonprofit organizations. Call 364-1276 for more information.
