Many thanks go to Goldbelt Mt. Roberts Tramway for sponsoring this year's 18th annual Mt. Roberts Tram Run that was held July 23. Mt. Roberts Tramway donated tram passes for volunteers and the 43 runners who participated in this year's run. Mt. Roberts Tram purchased a trophy this year that will record the top male and female finishers for this and future years. The trophy will be displayed at the lower tram terminal for all to see. A special thanks to Goldbelt tram manager George Reifenstein for working so diligently with us when making race arrangements. We really appreciate Goldbelt's participation and without them, this race would not have been such a success.
Thank you Gastineau Guiding for donating many wonderful door prizes that were given to runners at the end of the race. Also, thank you Alaska Club for donating coupons for memberships and enrollment fees that were made available to our runners.
The race could not have happened without the hard work of our volunteers. Thanks to volunteers Don Beard, Nicole Wery-Tagaban, Dan McCrummen, Louis Tagaban, Margie Germain-Antrim, and Rob Steedle, who volunteered with registration, timing the runners and getting refreshments ready for the runners at the end. And lastly, thanks to all the runners for participating in this year's tram run.
