New Central Council staff: The Business and Economic Development Department of Tlingit-Haida Central Council has hired two new staff members. Gordon Jackson will serve as manager for the department, and Carrie Sykes, previously of the Native Lands and Resource Department, will be the economic development technician.
Fudge, Bundy to leave UAS: Milt Fudge, director of business operations, retired from the University of Alaska Southeast on Monday. He is a longtime university employee who worked in Ketchikan and rural Alaska as well as Juneau. On Aug. 25, Rick Bundy, chief budget officer, will retire. Bundy has worked in the university for more than 22 years.
IOGCC approves officers for 2001: The Interstate Oil and Gas Compact Commission recently announced its officers for 2001. Keeping the top spot is Gov. Tony Knowles, the first governor since 1945 to serve as the organization's chairman for consecutive years. Officials from Texas and Louisiana fill other positions.
ERA Aviation promotions: ERA Aviation recently announced several in-house promotions for the fixed wing/airline division; all those promoted are residents of Anchorage. Kip Knudsen has been promoted to general manager, fixed base operations and facilities. Steve Hill has been promoted to the new position of manager, scheduling and planning. Brett Muller has been promoted to Anchorage station manager for the airline division. Mike Le Norman has been promoted to director, sales and marketing. Lillian Bunch has been promoted to manager, reservations.
Pokorny joins Anchorage EDC: Geoffrey ``Jeff'' Pokorny has joined the Anchorage Economic Development Corp. staff as research director. He succeeds Jon McCracken, who left Alaska in April. Pokorny and his wife, Michelle, moved to Anchorage from Biloxi, Miss., where he worked for the Department of Marine Resources.
