A group of skiers traversing the Coastal Range icefields completed their 1,200-mile journey.

They arrived in Skagway ahead of schedule July 16, five months and two weeks after starting out near Vancouver, British Columbia, and 10 days after leaving Juneau.

Guy Edwards, Vance Culbert and John Millar completed the entire journey, the first people ever to do so, they said. Heather Culbert, Lena Rowat and Cecelia Mortenson joined them midway.
