Posted: Sunday, August 02, 2009

Helping Hands would like to thank all the volunteers who stepped up to help with Gold Rush Days, whether you came to set up or you worked a shift or you came to help us break down, then unload at that the warehouse.

We were able to have a successful event and would also like to thank the people of Juneau who stopped by our booth to help support our cause by purchasing food.

We would also like to take this oppurnity to thank the many volunteers who came to help on the Fourth of July at Sandy Beach with set-up, working a shift, breaking down and unloading at the warehouse.

A very special thank you to Tyler Rental for the generous donation of a generator to give us electricity. We were able to sell food when we had problems.

We'd like to give a special thank you to Pete and Jason, from Tyler rental, for spending part of their Fourth of July to help us getting things on track. We would like to also take this chance to thank a special group called Campus Crusade for Christ, who were around to help us out on the Fourth and having been helping us out at the warehouse since on Fridays. A special thank you to Kaleb Waite, from this group, who knows about electricity kept us running after Tyler Rental left. He stay with us until the end even was one a few who came to help unload at the warehouse after words.

Helping Hands relies on volunteers to keep in operation. We are pleased the volunteers stepped it up this year to lend a helping hand not only at these events but every week at the warehouse. We would like to thank all the people that came to our booth to purchase food, snow cones and cotton candy, and who waited in line. We appreciate your support the money will continue to help us keep in operation.

We would like to remind people of our annual dinner and auction coming up on Aug. 29. Dinner will begin at 5 p.m. with live auction at 6 p.m. at Valley Chapel. If you would like tickets, call 789-4390 or available at the door.
