ANCHORAGE - The National Lieutenant Governor's Association (NLGA) is holding their annual meeting this week in Biloxi, Miss. Alaska Lt. Gov. Craig E. Campbell will be joining his fellow officials for two days of meetings.
The meeting's agenda focuses on "Recovery, Rebuilding and Renewal." The themes are particularly significant to Mississippi and the region since they are still responding to the Gulf oil spill, the association said in a statement.
"I look forward to the opportunity to visit the Mississippi Gulf during such a vital time and as always, appreciate meeting with Lieutenant Governors from across the country. As state leaders, we can learn so much from one another and our experiences dealing with emergencies like the spill," said Campbell. "Like the Gulf Region, Alaska has experienced the devastation of an oil spill and I look forward to hearing about the advances in technology and how state government can be most effective in responding to disaster."
