Ketchikan ousted at divisionals

Posted: Sunday, August 03, 2003

The Ketchikan Junior Division (Age 13-14) Little League baseball team went two-and-out at the Northwest Division tourney last week in Vancouver, Wash.

The Ketchikan squad fell to an Oregon squad 11-1 in six innings last Sunday, then lost to Montana 8-4 on Monday to get knocked out of the double-elimination tournament.

The Oregon team, from Lake Oswego, faced off with Aiea, Hawaii, on Thursday in the tourney finals. Once-beaten Oregon needed to beat undefeated Hawaii twice to win the divisional crown.

Earlier this week in Vancouver, the Juneau-Gastineau Channel Little League Senior Division (Age 15-16) softball squad won its Northwest Division tourney. The GCLL All-Stars are playing in the West Region tournament in Butte, Mont., this week.
