Juneau police, fire officials and state troopers reported:

Sound off on the important issues at


• A green paintball gun and a black paintball gun were reported stolen at 12:02 p.m. Wednesday in the 8500 block of Rainbow Row.

• A 1992 Honda Accord was reported stolen at 9:56 p.m. Wednesday in the 50 block of Egan Drive.

• A women's bike was reported stolen at 10:17 p.m. Wednesday from Seventh Street downtown.

• A 1999 Ford truck was reported stolen at 8:44 a.m. Thursday in the 6500 block of Glacier Highway.

• It was reported at 11:25 a.m. Thursday that $1,060 in cash was stolen from a home in the 11400 block of Auke Bay Harbor Road.


• A 51-year-old man reported at 3:29 p.m. Wednesday that windows were shot out of two excavators on Crow Hill in Douglas, causing $2,000 in damages.

• A 54-year-old man reported at 7:31 a.m. Thursday that three windows were shot out of a piece of construction equipment on Montana Creek Road.

• A diamond-sea-glaze window valued at $400 was reported broken at 8:42 p.m. Wednesday in the 4900 block of Wren Drive.

• A 33-year-old man reported at 9:04 a.m. Thursday that a window was shot out of his 1993 Ford truck in the 2200 block of Fritz Cove.

Animal encounters:

• Police received a report at 2:01 p.m. Wednesday that a bear wandered into an open window in the 2500 block of Pederson Street.

• A bear reportedly broke into a chicken coop at 6:03 p.m. Wednesday in the 1700 block of Glacier Avenue.

• A bear also was seen at 9:31 p.m. Wednesday wandering around Alaway Avenue, at 10:51 p.m. Wednesday in the 8800 block of Glendale Street, at 1:26 a.m. Thursday in the 8600 block of Hayes Way and at 10:19 a.m. Thursday in the 6000 block of Glacier Spur Road.
