JUNEAU - A 38-year-old Anchorage man died in a Kenai Peninsula van crash.

Alaska State Troopers said Bobby Edstrom was in a van that left the roadway Saturday near mile 33 of the Kenai Spur Highway. The vehicle rolled down an embankment and overturned several times.

Edstrom was ejected.

Two others in the van, 37-year-old John Morrison and 27-year-old Alice Smith, were transported to Central Peninsula Hospital in Soldotna without life-threatening injuries.

Both are from Anchorage.

Troopers said alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash.

Authorities were notified when Smith showed up at the Nikiski Fire Station shortly after 6 a.m. to report the accident.
