Football season is upon us again with the first Crimson Bears game this Friday, Aug. 8. My husband and I went out to watch the guys practice last week, and we were reminded about the stagnant pond next to the bleachers at the Adair-Kennedy field because we were fiercely attacked by no-see-um's, just like every year.
Is this pond some sort of wetland no-no, or what? If so, that is so sad.
Our guys might draw a larger crowd at their games if the audience did not have to fight the gnats that are breeding in droves in that ridiculous pond.
Why can't it be drained and filled in? I've never seen a duck there, but if they do use it, I'm sure they would find another spot to paddle around in if that pond wasn't there.
