Police and Fire

Juneau police, fire officials and state troopers reported:

Thefts:

• Two crab pots, two buoys and lines were reported stolen at 8:26 a.m. Monday near Portland Island.

• A coil roofing nailer in a gray plastic case was reported stolen at 12:29 p.m. Monday near Glacier Highway. The nailer was stolen from the bed of a pickup truck.

• A black and silver Pentax camera was reported stolen at 3:55 p.m. Monday from an undisclosed location in Juneau. The camera was stolen about two weeks ago.

• An Evinrude Motor, valued at $500 and stored in a carport, was reported stolen at 5:51 p.m. Monday near Glacier Highway.

Vandalism and criminal mischief:

• A door was reported smashed at 2:13 p.m. Monday near Glacier Highway when someone tried to break into a room at a residence. Access to the room was not gained and nothing was stolen. The cost of replacing the door jamb will be about $600.

Animal encounters:

• Bears were reported Monday at 7:36 a.m. near Glacier Highway in Lemon Creek, 4:07 p.m. near Glacier Highway in Lemon Creek, 4:13 p.m. near Aspen Street, Pinewood Street and Sesame Street, 9:56 p.m. near Glacier Highway and Sherwood Lane and 10:47 p.m. near Delta Drive.
