I'm getting just a little bit tired of the "temporary" sales tax issue. Every few years, it shows up on the ballot. This time, the city is using scare tactics to try to get the voters to approve its being renewed. Why don't they just come right out and say, "We want to make this tax permanent?" It certainly seems that is what they want to do. As I understand the issue, this "temporary" sales tax was never intended to be used for the nuts and bolts of the city. It was intended to be used for a specific need. Once that specific need had been dealt with, it was supposed to end. That was why it was "temporary" in the first place.
