Paige Zo Dunker and Matthew McGuan, of Juneau, were married on June 28, 2008, at the Shrine of Saint Therese in Juneau. Father Thomas Weise of the Cathedral of the Nativity officiated. A reception followed at the Mount Robert's Tramway Timberline Bar and Grill. A Beach Brunch Potluck on June 29 at the Auke Village Recreation Area completed the celebrations.
The bride is the daughter of John Dunker and Amy Paige, of Juneau. She graduated from Juneau-Douglas High School in 1995 and from Earlham College in Richmond, Ind., in 1999, with a Bachelor of Arts in psychology. She obtained her Master of Teaching from the University of Alaska Southeast and teaches third grade at Riverbend Elementary School.
The groom is the son of George and Mary Ann McGuan of Gary, Ind. He graduated from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in New London, Conn., and earned his master's degree in civil engineering from Virginia Tech University in Blacksburg, Va. He is a lieutenant in the U.S. Coast Guard and is stationed at the Civil Engineering Unit in Juneau.
The bride's sister, Marlowe Dunker, of Juneau, was the maid of honor and Kristen Eckholm Airhart, of Missoula, Mont., and Sally Whiting, of Anchorage, were bridesmaids.
The best man was the groom's brother, Justin McGuan, of Granby, Colo. The groomsmen were George McGuan, currently with the Peace Corps in Bolivia, and Greg Barbiaux, of Cleveland, Ohio.
The couple enjoyed a honeymoon in Hawaii. They will make their home in Juneau.
