Adorable, big-hearted pets seek homes
Donnie, left, is a 5-year-old neutered male lab-husky mix, but he acts more like a lap cat since his favorite two things seem to be chin scratches and butt rubs. Deep down under all the fur and the ample love handles, he has big heart filling up his barrel chest.
August is upon us and the stars say it should be a good month for Leo. Leo, top right, is a 2-year-old neutered male cat with a purrfectly adorable face and a playful personality.
Moe, bottom right, is a 7½-year-old Norwegian forest cat cross who has a pretty tricolor coat that she loves to have brushed. She has somewhat of a passive attitude but she isn't shy about her love for attention and she gets along well with other cats.
Right now "bird" is the word at the Gastineau Humane Society. If we had any more feathers we might just take off. Currently up for adoption we have two precious parakeets, one lovely lovebird and a pair of darling doves. The doves are a couple, but the rest of the birds belong in the singles section under the heading, "Will sing for love."
You can visit these animals 3-5:30 p.m. Monday-Friday or 2-5 p.m. Saturday at the Gastineau Humane Society.
