Alaska woman gets month in jail after SUV ramming

FAIRBANKS - An Alaska woman has been sentenced to a month in jail for repeatedly ramming her husband's SUV after seeing him dance with another woman.

Latonya Stewart of Fort Wainwright pleaded guilty earlier this year to one count of criminal mischief as part of a plea agreement. She also must pay $7,000 in restitution for damages.

Stewart's husband told Alaska State Troopers the couple went to the Gold Rush Saloon one night in December and Stewart "became enraged" when he danced with another woman at the bar.

A judge told the 30-year-old Stewart she likely would not have received any jail time if not for a prior felony conviction in Oklahoma for concealment of merchandise.
