Former Juneau resident Kelly P. Riley, 50, died July 30, 2006, in Seattle after a short fight with cancer.

He was born in November of 1955 in Ketchikan to Violet and Alfred Riley. He worked for the Department of Corrections in Ketchikan and Juneau for 22 1/2 years before retiring. He was active in the Glacier Volunteer Fire Department and the Ketchikan Volunteer Fire Department. He married his wife, Patti, in July 1993. They were active members in the Eagles Club. They moved to Shelton, Wash., after his retirement.
He is survived by his wife; children, Michelle Strope and her son, Nicholas, Ryan Strope and Tiana Terriault; mother, Violet Riley; siblings, Linda Wright and her husband, Hugh, Colleen MacCannell and her husband, William, Lenvil Riley, Connie Riley and her husband, Brian Duncan, and Wayne Riley and his wife, Renee; as well as nieces and nephews.
There will be a celebration of his life at 3 p.m. on Aug. 9, at The Pavilion in Shelton, Wash.
