ANCHORAGE - Two Soldotna teenagers are dead and another is injured after a head-on collision on the Seward Highway.
Alaska State Troopers say the dead are 19-year-old Alex Baker and 16-year-old Rodney Rogers. Hurt in the noontime crash Thursday was 17-year-old Elizabeth Miller.
Rogers and Miller were passengers in a northbound Suzuki sedan driven by Baker when the car was struck by a southbound Dodge pickup whose driven was trying to pass a line of vehicles at Turnagain Arm.
The driver of the truck, 32-year-old Benjamin Cosper of Girdwood, sustained minor injuries.
Troopers say the Dodge also clipped a trailer being towed by a northbound truck - causing the trailer and truck to roll - and sideswiped another truck. No one in those vehicles was hurt.
The Dodge then lost a tire and went into a ditch, hitting a rock wall.
