Juneau police, fire officials and state troopers reported:

Sound off on the important issues at


• A gold nugget watch was reported stolen at 12:33 p.m. Sunday in the 200 block of South Franklin Street downtown.

• Police arrested a 48-year-old man on a larceny charge at 5:34 p.m. Sunday in the 200 block of Front Street downtown. They lodged him at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center.

• Plastic containers holding gasoline were reported stolen at 7:33 p.m. Sunday in the 2800 block of Engineers Cutoff Road. The loss included four 5-gallon containers, three 6-gallon containers and one 12-gallon container.

• Two audio amplifiers were reported stolen at 9:06 a.m. Monday from a locked 1997 Volkswagen Jetta parked at Harris Harbor. A window was reported broken out to gain access to the car.

• A cell phone was reported stolen at 10:25 a.m. Monday in the 2400 block of Mendenhall Loop Road.

• A fishing reel and flashers were reported stolen at 10:26 a.m. Monday in Aurora Harbor. Vandalism also was reported to a water tank on a boat.


• A tire was reported slashed and hubcaps were reported stolen at 3:32 p.m. Sunday in the 1800 block of Glacier Highway near the downtown area.

• A 2-foot-by-3-foot window was reported broken out at 6:23 a.m. Monday in the 1000 block of Salmon Creek Lane.

• A window was reported broken out of a 1996 Dodge pickup at 9:08 a.m. Monday in the 4000 block of Delta Drive in the Mendenhall Valley.

• Three vehicles were reported pelted with eggs and a door on one of them was reported damaged at 9:47 a.m. Monday in the 3300 block of Park Place in the valley.

Animal encounters:

• A bear was reported taking away a bag of garbage at 11:30 a.m. Sunday in the 4000 block of Slate Drive in the valley. A bear was reported having gotten into garbage at 10:20 p.m. Sunday in the 8300 block of Nugget Lane nearby. A bear also was reported at 6:39 p.m. Sunday in the 8100 block of North Douglas Highway.
