Courts

Court records show the following legal actions among those taken in Juneau Superior and District courts through Aug. 8, 2002. Actions in Hoonah District Court are included at the request of the magistrate.

Judgments

• Ernie Grant, 36, was found guilty of disorderly conduct stemming from an offense of June 11. The original charge was assault - recklessly cause injury, a misdemeanor. District Judge Peter Froehlich sentenced him to 25 days in jail.

He also was found guilty of a probation violation stemming from an offense of June 12. He was sentenced to pay a $350 fine and 25 days in jail.

• Grady L. Fisher, 36, was found guilty of reckless driving, a misdemeanor, stemming from an offense of Jan. 26. The original charge was drunken driving, a misdemeanor.

Froehlich sentenced him to pay a fine of $500 with $250 suspended, 33 days in jail with 30 days suspended, a 90-day driver's license revocation, to enroll in, pay for and complete, the Juneau Alcohol Safety Action Program, and placed him on probation for one year with the standard conditions of release which includes completing the sentence, violating no laws, committing no crimes and paying the cost of incarceration and a surcharge.

• Christian M. Fletcher, 41, was found guilty of drunken driving stemming from an offense of June 9.

Froehlich sentenced him to pay a fine of $500 with $250 suspended, 33 days in jail with 30 days suspended, a 90-day driver's license revocation, JASAP, and placed him on probation for one year with the standard conditions of release.

• Anthony L. Papa, 18, was found guilty of criminal mischief-purposely or recklessly causing injury stemming from an offense of June 23.

Froehlich sentenced him to pay a $500 fine, 40 days in jail with 40 days suspended and placed him on probation for one year with the standard conditions of release.

• Caroline Lavale, 18, was found guilty of larceny, a misdemeanor, stemming from an offense of June 22.

Froehlich suspended imposition of her sentence and placed her on probation for one year with the standard conditions of release.

• William R. Rusaw, 39, was found guilty of drunken driving stemming from an offense of May 18.

Froehlich sentenced him to pay a $1,500 fine, 120 days in jail with 100 days suspended, a one-year driver's license revocation, JASAP and placed him on probation for three years with the standard conditions of release.

• Robert L. Harris, 29, was found guilty of drunken driving stemming from an offense of June 26.

Froehlich sentenced him to pay a $5,000 fine, 365 days in jail with $285 days suspended, a three-year driver's license revocation, JASAP and placed him on probation for five years with the standard conditions of release.

He also was found guilty of reckless endangerment stemming from an offense of June 26. He was sentenced to 10 days in jail.

He also was found guilty on six counts of violating his probation stemming from offenses of June 27.

He was sentenced to 1180 days in jail with 1060 days suspended, pay a $10,000 fine with $10,000 suspended, and placed him on probation with the standard conditions of release as well as Tongass Community Counseling and Child and Family Care Resources, and he is not allowed to consume drugs or alcohol or go where alcohol is sold or served.

Two additional counts of reckless endangerment, one count of refusing to submit to a chemical breath test and one count of driving with a suspended license stemming from an incident of June 26 were dismissed.

• Scott A. Damian, 39, was found guilty of two sixth-degree misconduct involving a controlled substance, a misdemeanor, stemming from an offense of Feb. 2 and Feb. 26.

Froehlich sentenced him to pay a $1,000 fine, 50 days in jail with 40 days suspended and placed him on probation for one year with the standard conditions of release.

• Roberta White, 27, was found guilty of second-degree theft, a misdemeanor, stemming from an offense of Sept. 27.
